Stonewall FC Photographs

More photos? I have been busy, haven't I! I had a free Saturday at the weekend just gone, so decided to get myself down to big old London to watch Stonewall FC (Britain's top-ranking LGBTQ+ orientated football team- who do great stuff to help tackle the LGBTQ+ discrimination which is sadly still present in the game), as they took on Harrow United in the Middlesex County Football League Premier Division. The hosts won 2-1 in a close fought match.

The ethos and mission behind the club is something I wholeheartedly align with, so a visit has always been on the cards, but the fact that they play their home games at the London Marathon Community Track, pretty much sealed the deal! The ground lies in the shadow of West Ham United's London Stadium, as well as the ArcelorMittal Orbit, both of which provide impressive views for spectators. Or, at least in my opinion! The sun was out, too, making my job as photographer all the more enjoyable, because sunlight just makes everything better, doesn't it?

The club were a super friendly and welcoming bunch, so I would highly recommend a visit if you're nearby. Or even if you're not nearby- I made it down from Sheffield especially for my trip. But then again, maybe that's just me being me! Anyway, wherever you are, get yourselves down and support a friendly team and a fantastic cause. Few pics down below, full set HERE.

Worcester City Women FC Photos (more)!!

Yep, that's right, another set of photos! See, I said I was getting back into this. To be honest, taking the photos last week really sort of lit the spark in me again with photographing at football. I often find it hard to get back into it after a long break, because I find it pretty nerve wracking, plus I have extremely high standards of myself when it comes to my photography (and anything creative I do, for that matter), so I only ever want to put my best work out. I don't want to disappoint myself or the teams I am photographing for. I then spend far more time than I should criticising my own output and comparing myself to others. Not healthy, I know.

That, and the fact that I now have a lot more time on my hands to edit them, because if you're a regular reader here, then you'll know that my film is now finished and I can shift my creative energy towards other projects. Until I start my next film, that is!

Like I mentioned last week, I absolutely love photographing for Worcester, because the ethics and values of the team align with mine, plus the people both off and on the pitch are a great bunch <3 Was an absolutely outstanding performance at the weekend- still buzzing today from it- and that's just from watching, never mind how it must have felt to be one of the players or staff involved!

Anyway, essay over! You just want to see the photos, I get it! Ten below, full set HERE. Notts County Women FC 0-4 Worcester City Women FC, FAWNL Division One Midlands 12/10/25, Coronation Park.

Worcester City Women FC Photos

I know, I know, hard to believe as well after such a long break. But, back with some good stuff: I've put my name down as available to take photos at some of Worcester City Women FC's games- the club I support. Amazing to have a club in my hometown playing at level 4 of the women's pyramid, something I would have loved to aspire to as a young girl. It wasn't an option for me growing up, but it's amazing that girls coming through now have this choice.

Women's FA Cup, third round qualifying 5/10/25 at Stanground Academy. Stanground Cardea Sports Ladies FC 1-3 Worcester City Women FC, full set of photos HERE.

First Crochet Creature

Also known as amigurumi, rather than crochet in this context. I used a pattern from Hobbycraft, the 'mini puppy amigurumi kit', which I purchased last year when I had absolutely zero idea how to even do a chain stitch! But, fast forward to now and I was finally able to complete it! It's not perfect and I definitely learnt a lot along the way, but I am still super proud of what I achieved- I think it looks really cute and for my first creature (and only second finished piece overall) I think it's not too bad.

Here's the work in progress picture (surrounded by a load of yarn- yes, yes I did get carried away in Boyes)!

And below are a few images of the final piece:

This is extremely addictive right now! But I can't let myself get too carried away, because I've got a feature film to make, remember... Though I think it's allowed for a little bit, because it's not been long since finishing my short film and I do need a bit of a break/ change of creative scenery. And this is providing exactly that, but like I said, mustn't get too involved!
